Questions

Transform Your Backyard with Firestone

Find quick answers to your patio and oven queries here.

What is the construction time for an oven?

A standard fully enclosed masonry oven typically takes 4 to 6 weeks to construct, from the foundation to the chimney cap. However, several factors can influence this timeline. Custom fabricated elements, elaborate decorations, or non-standard building materials may extend or shorten the project duration.

Can I include a kitchen in my patio design?

Yes, we offer outdoor kitchen options.

Do I need to get a permit and permission for a wood-fired oven?

The answer to this is maybe. In our service area, many municipalities don’t require a permit for an outdoor masonry oven, as its size usually falls below the minimum requirements and it is intended solely for cooking, similar to a barbecue. However, other features of an outdoor patio, like a roof, may need a permit under the Ontario Building Code. Also, if you would like to build a wood-fired oven inside your home, a permit is always required. We will evaluate every project, make the appropriate inquiries and advise you accordingly.
